B&K salt beef bar.


This is a truly beautiful place. Located in Edgware, down one of the quieter side roads leading off the busy high street, it is a safe haven from manic shoppers and frantic businessmen running for busses, offering up delectable Jewish fare in a restaurant so small you feel as though you've been invited into their living room for Friday night supper.

Christmassy cupcakes.





Cupcakes are supremely appropriate for this time of year for a multitude of reasons, the most important being that as they're conveniently small it's easy to stuff several into your face at once when you're searching for a wintery sugar high. However, as well as this, I like to look on them as little festive bundles of joy, bringing you Christmas cheer in every bite.

Bread and butter.


There is nothing quite like the smell of baking bread, is there?

Well, despite my clearly futile efforts to reduce the amount of carbohydrates I stuff myself with on an average day (monstrous quantities, but then who can resist them? Well, apart from Dr. Atkins, and look how that worked out...) I find there is nothing more comforting, not to mention rewarding, than biting into the crusty exterior of a fresh baked roll to expose the ooey gooey dough within. Add lashings of melted butter and you're golden.
